Every Experience Leads Somewhere. Look for It.
It’s tempting to measure progress by obvious wins—big sales days, packed events, clear yes-or-no outcomes. But growth rarely works that neatly. More often, it shows up sideways. Quietly. In ways we don’t immediately recognize.
Not every show leads to big sales—but every experience leads somewhere.
A conversation that lingers.
A connection that turns into a future opportunity.
An invitation that wouldn’t have happened if you hadn’t shown up.
Sometimes the value of an experience isn’t what happens in the moment—it’s what it sets in motion next.
One of our Women for Women members, Megan Link, shared this perspective after spending time at Scott Antiques Market. While not every day was a sales win, the experience opened doors: new relationships, increased visibility, and invitations to pop-ups she hadn’t expected. The lesson wasn’t about chasing perfect outcomes—it was about recognizing momentum when it appears.
Each opportunity presents direction for the next step.
That direction doesn’t always come with a spotlight. It often asks us to pay attention instead. To notice what felt energizing. Who we connected with. What conversations stayed with us after we packed up and went home.
This is especially true when you’re building a business rooted in relationships. People remember how you made them feel. They remember your story. They remember your work—even if they don’t buy right away. Those moments matter more than we give them credit for.
So if you leave an experience wondering whether it was “worth it,” try asking a different question:
What did this experience show me?
Growth isn’t always immediate. But it is cumulative. One experience leads to the next. One yes opens another door. One moment of showing up builds momentum you can’t always see yet.
Quiet advice: every experience is pointing you somewhere.
Pay attention.
Say yes when it feels right.
And trust that the next step often reveals itself after you’re willing to get out there.
