SOCIAL MEDIA + AI

Getting Started, Finding Your Voice &
Making It Work for Your Business

Highlights from our October 7 W4W Workshop

Social media can feel like one more thing on an already overflowing to-do list. What should you post? How often? What do you say? And how can AI actually help without making everything sound generic?

At our recent W4W Social Media + AI workshop with Mallory Curry, we explored how to approach these questions with a little more clarity and a lot less overwhelm.

And one thing became clear: AI can be a valuable tool, but it works best when you give it something meaningful to work with.

START WITH YOUR BUSINESS, NOT THE TECHNOLOGY

Before asking ChatGPT to write a caption, create a content calendar, or help market your business, start by helping it understand you.

  • What does your business do?

  • Who is your ideal customer?

  • What makes your work different?

  • What do you want people to know about your business?

  • How do you want to sound when you communicate?

The more clearly you can answer these questions, the more useful AI becomes.

The goal isn't to sound like AI. It's to use AI to communicate more effectively as yourself.

WHAT WE'RE HEARING FROM W4W MEMBERS

In preparing for the workshop, we asked participants where they needed the most help.

Several common challenges emerged:

  • Knowing what to post

  • Creating a realistic content plan

  • Writing captions that sound authentic

  • Finding and developing a consistent brand voice

  • Using AI without losing the personal touch

  • Saving time and posting more consistently

Sound familiar?

These are exactly the kinds of challenges we want to keep exploring through W4W.

YOUR FIRST AI EXERCISE

Teach ChatGPT About Your Business

Here's a simple place to begin. Open ChatGPT, copy the prompt below, and paste it into a new conversation.

I want you to help me communicate and market my business more effectively. Before we start creating content, ask me questions about my business, my products or services, my ideal customer, and my communication style. Ask one question at a time so we can build a clear picture of my business together.

You don't need to have all the answers before you begin. Sometimes the questions themselves help you discover what you need to clarify.

KEEP LEARNING IN THE W4W MEMBER HUB

For W4W Members

The conversation doesn't end when the workshop does!

We've added resources from Mallory Curry's Social Media + AI workshop to the Member Hub so you can revisit what you learned and begin putting these ideas to work in your own business.

Inside, you'll find:

  • Workshop Recording — Watch the conversation again or catch up if you missed it.

  • Workshop Summary — Review the important takeaways, practical advice, and ideas for getting started.

  • Additional Resources — Explore helpful tools and exercises as they become available.

Whether you're just beginning to explore AI or already using it, the goal is the same: work smarter, communicate more confidently, and spend more time doing what you love.
